We have chosen two small, independent wine-producers from Abruzzo for our ‘Spring selection’. The first, PIETRANTONJ, from the province of Aquila, is an extremely well-established house, dating back to 1830. It is still a family run concern and produces about 800,000 bottles a year. The second, VALLE MARTELLO , is on the coast in the province of Chieti. It is run by five young cousins and was founded by their grandparents after the second world war. Both vineyards produce the Trebbiano white wines, Cerasuolo rosè, and Montepulciano reds. Neither producer has exported to the UK up to now.
